Industrial Relations
Workplace relations is the
term used to cover working conditions such as rates of pay, annual
leave, sick leave and long service leave, amongst other things.
It should be noted that the majority of South Australian employees
are now covered by the Commonwealth
Fair Work Act 2009.
Employees associate Industrial Relations with Unions,
Industrial Awards, and labour laws that set the conditions under
which we work. This includes our pay, safety, employment security
and opportunities for training.
For employers it is about negotiations and relationships
between workers and business owners/managers to work towards increased
productivity and improved product quality in exchange for better
conditions of employment for workers.
Gary Collis and Associates can work with you and
on your behalf to provide a sustainable and suitable resolution
to your industrial relations issues. Before taking part in industrial
action, it's essential you make sure that the industrial action
is protected. You may personally face consequences, including legal
action and fines if you participate in industrial action that's
not protected. We all have workplace rights both employers and employees,
we're here to help you protect them.
If your industrial relations
enquiry is only about wages, rates or monies owing the easiest,
quickest way is to call the Workplace Ombudsman's office on 13 13
